BENTLEY

Bentley is being fostered in Alabama.  If you wuld like more information on him you should fill out an application and then you are free to contact his foster home at C.M.Butler@usm.edu.

Hi,
My name is Bentley and I’m a six and a half year old salt and pepper male miniature schnauzer. I am a very sweet dog and love to follow you wherever you go. I really want to be by your side at all times, but I also need to rest due to my special medical condition. I have epilepsy and I am on medication that keeps it under control (my meds only cost about $10/month); my foster parents haven’t observed a single seizure since they rescued me over three months ago. The drawback to my meds is that they make me tired easily and I don’t have a lot of extra energy for playing. I was rescued from a high kill shelter in Mississippi after my former owners could no longer take care of my special medical needs.

I have natural ears and a docked tail. I’m heartworm negative and, other than my epilepsy, I have a clean bill of health from the doctor. I am up to date on all my shots, on heartworm preventatives, on monthly flea & tick treatment, and I just had my annual teeth cleaning. I am neutered and almost completely housetrained (I still have occasional accidents).

I do fine with all three of my foster brothers, and I even do fine with my eldest foster brother that is an alpha. I haven’t been exposed to cats, so I don’t know how I will do around them. I do fine on a leash, but I do get tired and tend to give out on long walks. I do well on car rides and I’m a great traveling companion. I do fine with children, but I will probably do best with older kids that won’t pick on me or expect me to play with them constantly. My foster family really thinks that I could probably fit well into any home, but I would probably do best in a home where my new parents want a lap dog instead of a playmate.

If you think that you might be my forever owner, I would love for you to consider making me the newest member of your family.
Hope to meet you soon.
Love - Bentley
