GUS
Gus is being fostered in southeast
Georgia. Look at his sweet face! He's a
very special old guy with a story. Early
one morning the president of SLR
received a call from a Vet's office in
Birmingham. They had arrived at work to
find a schnauzer tied to their door
along with his toys, a bowl and some
food. He also had a large growth on his
back. The story just broke Marty's heart
and she agreed to rescue him and find a
good home for Gus. She arranged for
surgery to remove the growth.
Fortunately he tested heartworm
negative, now on preventative and given
yearly vaccines.
Gus is silver and weighs 27lbs.
Gus is an easy low maintenance older man
who enjoys the occasional walk and pat
on the head. He is housebroken, crate
trained and leash trained. Like many
retired old men, his day consists of
eating, sleeping and watching TV. He has
a bit of arthritis in the hind end and
is taking meds to relieve this
discomfort. Gus is also a little hard of
hearing. For these reasons, Gus needs a
quiet home with carpet and no children
or pets. Perhaps another older dog would
be ok. He is very worried about
being bumped in to by the active younger
dogs in his current foster home.
As you can see, it is going to take a
very special home with very special
people to adopt Gus. Are you that
special person? Are you willing to open
your heart and your home to this great
old guy so that he can comfortably live
out his remaining years? For all he's
been through, Gus deserves this! Please
