"Happy Tails" to all of our former foster dogs who found loving homes!  Here are photos of some of SLR's recent Happy Tails!

Barbara and Harry have already put up a fence for her, micro-chipped her, given her a personalized dog tag, and even given some thought to getting her a companion. Annie really struck gold when she was adopted by this couple!! I don't think she could have found a better, more loving, devoted home than with Barbara and Harry Grander. A forever home and people to love you unconditionally -- what a great way to welcome in the new year!!

ANNIE

Annie was lovingly fostered by Marilynn Nunn in Douglasville, Georgia.

On December 30, 2007, ten-year-old Annie was  adopted by Barbara and Harry Grander. Since then, they have sent several emails to Annie's Foster Mom, reporting the following:

“We are so happy with this little lady. Annie is a real sweetheart and continues to be a delight. We're confident that she will give us many years of pleasure. Annie is doing well and is very busy training us to her liking. She is sleeping wherever she wants (including in the bed with us). Annie loves to go for car rides. She knows her car seat belt and when we get it out, she gets all excited at the prospect of a ride in the car. She goes with us almost everywhere. Even though she hasn’t picked either of us as her main person, she is so attached to us that she does not want to let us out of her sight. She is willing to take either lap and spends a lot of time in a lap or sitting on the couch next to a lap. We're very attached to her also and get quite a chuckle at some of her antics. She seems as happy with us as we are with her. We would already do anything for her.”

                      HAPPY NEW YEAR ANNIE ! ! !

       ROSCOE

Rosco was lovingly fostered by Debbie Turner and Andy Majowitz in Orlando, Florida

Rosco was adopted by Robin and will be living with his new Family in South Florida, including his new Schnauzer sister Jaya.

Rosco is the one in Pajama’s because he had some surgery, nothing serious, but thanks to SLR his self esteem was restored !

Rosco, has the best recall his foster mom has ever seen all you have to do is call his name and he flies to you.

When we last heard from, Rosco was on his trip to his forever home, missing his foster Daddy but looking forward to the future with his new family!

                    HERE'S  TO  YOU  ROSCOE ! ! !

           HUGO

Hugo was lovingly fostered by Mark & Diane Stevens in Mississippi.

Hugo was adopted by Linda Peerson on Dec 28 2007. Hugo's new "mom" lives in Savannah.

Mark and Diane were going to a New Year's party in South Carolina so they were able to take Hugo along for the ride and deliver him to his new mom!

Hugo has a new brother and got a trip to Petsmart to pick out some new stuff!! Hugo will finally have all the love and attention he deserves!

HAPPY  TAILS  HUGO ! ! !

As you can see from the picture, Andrew, Ashley and Shay were overjoyed to bring Hildie into their family. What a wonderful Christmas for everyone!

HILDIE

Hildie was lucky enough to be fostered by two of SLR’s dedicated volunteer families – Diane Farris and Mark Stevens in Ocean Springs, Mississippi and Ron and Jennie Gillihan in Newnan, Georgia. However, neither family got to keep her very long.

The Turners of west Tennessee heard about her and couldn’t wait to become her forever family.  They adopted Hildie just before Christmas 2007.

The Turners already have Stormie, who was really lonely after her "mom" died.. Hildie was the perfect match for that situation because she had always lived with another dog and needed companionship.

The Turners just wrote us to say:  "Hildie and Stormy hit it off from the start. When we got home that first day, we brought Stormy out to the yard to meet Hildie. They sniffed each other and then it was like they had known each other forever. They play together and sleep cuddled up next to each other (on our bed no less!). Stormy hasn't had an anxiety attack since Hildie has been here! Stormy loves to be petted and loved on so Hildie has gotten in on the act too. Everyone loves her constantly wagging tail.  Thanks for our new addition!"

WOOHOO  HILDIE ! ! !

"Jenny has brought so much love to us, and is now a member of our family. She is the best Christmas gift we could have ever gotten!"

JENNY

Jenny was lovingly fostered by Holly & Ron Miller in Roswell, Georgia.

Jenny was adopted by Mary and her 3 year old son Simon in Tennessee on December 1st, 2007.

Mary wrote us to tell us that Jenny has settled right in to her new home. She has an assortment of kitty beds to choose from (better suited to her petite size than regular dog beds) and is enjoying her retirement years. Jenny and her human brother Simon (age 3 ½) have become fast friends. She likes that he occasionally drops food right at her level, and he loves to give her hugs and soft pats. They like to snuggle in bed together and ride together in the car.

HAPPY  TAILS  JENNY ! ! !

Spencer is special in so many ways, but just to look at him, you have to smile. One ear stands straight up and the other points straight out, and he has a slight under bite causing him to appear to be smiling all the time. (and he does).

SPENCER

Spencer was lovingly fostered by Billy & Donna Wood in Jemison, Alabama.

Spencer was adopted by Chris and Jenna in Madison, Alabama on December 8th, 2007. As the picture shows, they were overjoyed at getting him. And well they should be, for he is a special little boy. He was the most loving fur baby Billy & Donna have fostered, and came to love him as their own.  It was very sad for Billy & Donna to see him go, but he was SO deserving of that forever home.

Spencer is a happy little boy that is a joy to be around. He is a jewel; - Chris and Jenna are lucky to have found him.

                        WAY TO GO SPENCER ! ! !

HEIDI

Heidi was fostered with much love and affection by Marilynn Nunn in Douglasville, GA.

On October 20, 2007, Heidi’s paws touched the ground at her house and from that moment on she put permanent paw prints on Marilynn’s heart. Heidi wasn’t like all the other Schnauzers Marilynn had fostered. She felt at home immediately and acted as if she had always belonged there. She fit right in with her three Schnauzer sisters and was the perfect, most well behaved little lady.

Heidi was adopted on November 18, 2007 by Sharon (Wetumpka, AL). Sharon had previously adopted Reggie from SLR so Heidi instantly had a brother. It was touch and go for a while between Reggie and Heidi because Reggie really enjoyed being an only fur-child. However, when Sharon let him know she would be the boss, then things calmed down and he quit giving his new sister such a hard time. Sharon reports they are all living happily ever after now. Heidi and Reggie are playing and Schnauzer talking to each other every day.

HAPPY  TAILS  HEIDI ! ! !

           SEBASTIAN

Sebastian was lovingly fostered by Judy & Mike Colvin in Marietta, Georgia.

Sebastian is a perfect southern gentleman who was adopted by Sara and Scott Andreas of Brownsville, Tennessee on Friday November 30th.

Scott wrote to tell me that Sebastian has learned to use his doggie door to access his fenced back yard since arriving at his forever home. Scott and Sara are retired so Sebastian is dividing his time between the two of them. Sebastian is loving his early morning walks with Scott and his snuggle time with Sara. Sebastian never meets a stranger. Scott says Sebastian greets everyone on their walks and just wants to be petted. I think all of the Andreas family are going to have a wonderful holiday and very happy new year.

YEAH  SEBASTIAN ! ! !

Little Nano was delivered to her forever home on December 1st, 2007!

NANO

Nano was lovingly fostered by Jennie & Ron Gillihan in Newnan, Georgia.

Nano will be living with the Swansons in north Georgia on a farm with cows, horses and step-brothers and sisters to play with.  Nano adores the outsides and we know she'll have a great life investigating all the wonderful smells when they all go out to play.

Nano will also be keeping Joy Beth company each night, snuggled up to sleep. Her foster parents sure will miss Nano - she made a place in their hearts and home in the short time she was with them.  But ,she sure  looks happy with Joy Beth and Kay, doesn't she?

HAPPY  TAILS  NANO ! ! !

  ANDIE  LOU

Andie Lou was lovingly fostered by Emily Newman in Roswell, Georgia.

Andie Lou was adopted by Barbara in North Charleston, South Carolina on November 26th, 2007.

WOOHOO  ANDIE  LOU ! ! !
