LIZZIE

Lizzie was lovingly fostered by Jan Jones in Wetumpka, Alabama for 5 months until she found her perfect forever home.

Lizzie was adopted by a wonderful couple; Bill and Marge Harris on July 21st, 2007.

Lizzie will be living in  Birmingham, AL, where she will be spoiled rotten, - just like she deserves.

WOOHOO  LIZZIE ! ! !

         BORIS

Boris was fostered and loved to pieces by Randy Warr in Atlanta, Georgia.

2.5 year old Boris was adopted by Stephanie Nase, of Atlanta, GA on July 6th, 2007.

Boris's new mom writes; " Boris he is doing fantastic!  There’s been no trouble with the cats; he pretty much ignores them even when Kitty swats at him.  He loves to go on walks and today we went to the dog park and he enjoyed running around and checking it out.  He is so friendly and loving - he is such a delight!.  I am thrilled!"

SCOOTER

Scooter was lovingly fostered by Betty and Joe Sinnott in Sebring, Florida.

Scooter's new family is (L-R) Jacob, Bob, Robin, and Jessica of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  He was adopted in February '07.

They drove 2 1/2 hours to pick up Scooter.  They were so happy to take him home.  When time came to leave, Scooter kissed us goodbye and just left with them.  He hopped right into their minivan as if he always had been there.  It's a good feeling to see so many people happy at one time.

WOOHOO  SCOOTER ! ! !

On July 7, 2007, Winston was adopted by Alice Caldwell and Chase Allen  of Birmingham, AL. We understand that he will soon be getting a life preserver so he can become a full fledged "Alabama River Rat".

WHAT A LIFE !

WINSTON

Winston was lovingly fostered by Dottie McGhee in Bartlett, TN.

Winston was found tied to a post outside a local animal center. He was left there all night and found by the workers the next morning.  He has the sweetest temperament and was starved for love and attention. He would rather give his  foster Mom  kisses, than eat.  He was just getting over his fear of everything and enjoying his life with his two foster brothers when he had to have his second surgery only a month apart.  His foster Mom was worried that he would have trouble adjusting to all the bad things that had happened to him in such a short time. It seems that all that worrying was unnecessary.  Winston's forever family sent the following note:

"I was very excited the day that I went to go get Winston, and when I met him for the first time I knew he would fit in well with our "family".  He loves Chase so much and they're getting to be big buddies, but he's my "stick tight" when I am home.  Winston spent his first weekend with us at our lake house in Arley, Alabama, and he has already become an Alabama River Rat!  He hasn't gotten in the water yet, but he sure loves to play in the mud and on the shoreline...and boat rides are his favorite!  Winston's independence and courage are growing stronger everyday.  He's happy all the time, and you can tell by his "motorboat" wagging!!!  We (all three of us)couldn't be happier! "

YEAH  WINSTON ! ! !

MACI

“Hello, I’m Maci.  This is a picture of me and my new Mom.  I’m famous, you know.  I’m the white Schnauzer being examined in the picture with featured vet, Susan Leck, on the SLR website.”

“Before I became famous and got new parents, I was fostered with tender, loving care by Marilynn Nunn in Douglasville, GA with the help from my Schnauzer step-sisters, Lacey and Dixie.  On May 20, 2007, I went on a long ride with a couple of really nice people (Judy and Mike Colvin) to Mobile, AL where my forever Mom and Dad, Dorris and Butch Prather, adopted me just 10 days before my 1st birthday.  Being just a young pup, I had no idea how much love awaited me at the end of that journey.  They were so glad to have me join the family that they gave me a birthday party so their family and friends could meet me.  I've already claimed my own space on top of the large ottoman so I can be close to my new parents and keep an eye on what's happening. But, I’m not just a doggie of leisure.  I have a very important job.  I’m the Top Dog in charge of Squirrel Patrol.  It’s my duty to protect the property and keep the yard free of squirrels which my Mom says I do extremely well! I wish all schnauzers could be loved as much as I am.”

WOOHOO  MACI  ! ! !

                 WAY  TO  GO  ROSIE ! ! !

ROSIE

Rosie (now referred to as Rosie Angel) was lovingly fostered by Marilynn Nunn in Douglasville, GA and adopted by Glee and Eddie Lambert of Brunswick, GA on March 18, 2007 at the young age of three.  Her story is best told by her forever Mom:

“The main thing about Rosie Angel is her personality and what it's done for us!  In December 2006, my husband and I were truly heartbroken (especially me) over the loss of our little schnauzer Anna.  Eddie saw Rosie on the website and simply said, "She's the one."  He never gave another dog even a second thought.  We are so in love with her.  God knew exactly what kind of little girl I needed to get me laughing and loving again.  She is incredibly full of joy which is exactly what we needed!  She is so puppy-like when she runs, jumps and greets us.  Sometimes, we watch her run or play with our Elmo and our two cats and just laugh until we're almost in tears!  We adopted Rosie Angel knowing she had a slight neurological condition which caused her to shake a little.  Now, I cannot imagine her without her little "problem.”  It's what makes us love her even more (if that's possible!)  She has learned to navigate the two steps out back by taking a flying leap from the patio to the landing, thereby missing that middle step --- it's Mighty Schnauzer!  She can't make her mind up which one of us she loves best.  When Eddie and I sit in the loveseat recliner, she will sprawl all over one of us for a while and then, without warning, she throws herself across the other one for a while.  The sweetest sounds I've ever heard are her little sighs and moans of contentment.  Oh, and her little howl is irresistible too!  (She does this when I meow for the cats.)”

Signed:  Rosie Angel's Adoring Parents, Personal Companions, Maid, Chef, Massage Therapist, Belly Rub Therapist, etc.  Glee and Eddie Lambert
