"Happy Tails" to all of our former foster dogs who found loving homes!  Here are photos of some of SLR's recent Happy Tails!

Heidi is sharing her new home with 4 other dogs so she will have no lack of companionship.  Heidi loves to run in her big new yard and jumps in the air trying to catch the big birds.  She dreams of being a big hunter.....

HEIDI

Heidi was lovingly fostered by Susie & Larry Taylor in Clearwater, Florida.

Heidi was adopted on June 29th, 2007 by Beverly and Barry Buss of Port St. Lucie, FL

Heidi’s foster mom told us:

“Our Heidi went to her new home on Friday.  Larry, Heidi’s foster dad said she jumped in the car with Beverly and Barry, and didn't even look back---totally crushed Larry!!  Beverly called on Saturday and said Heidi's first night went well.  She said she is going to re-name Heidi "Mrs. Wiggles" because her butt wiggles so much you think she is going to shake it off!  So, it sounds like Heidi has once again found herself a new home."

Heidi's new mom says she always walks around with a stuffed animal in her mouth: - she must have at least 12 stuffed animals on her bed.  And...Heidi sleeps in bed with her, right beside her with her head on the pillow.  If she forgets to pet her, the PAW comes out to remind her!

WOOHOO  HEIDI ! ! !

AN INCREDIBLE TAIL!

When Kathy Stevens pulled an older schnauzer from a local shelter, she never dreamed how the story would end.   Kathy is a member of SLR and pulled what she thought, was an 11 year old Schnauzer from a shelter in Ft. Myers, Florida.

Kathy’s gut feeling told her that somewhere out there was loving owner missing their schnauzer.  Kathy decided to check the lost pet sites and actually found the owners on Petfinder.  The owners are from Ft. Pierce and after they positively identified their dog, Kathy drove to Labelle with “Buster” to meet them for the happy reunion.

As soon as they pulled up, the old dog lit up and the mom starting crying, calling  his name,  - “Buster, Buster”  He has been with them since he was four months old and he is now 14 years old   Buster had been missing for four months!

They had been visiting relatives in the Ft. Myers area when Buster disappeared and they had been searching for him ever since.  Sadly, she even drove back across the state several weeks ago to the Ft. Myers animal services to look at another Schnauzer and never knew Buster was there, even though she asked them to call her if an older schnauzer was brought to the shelter.

Thanks Kathy, for your diligent detective work so this family could be reunited with Buster and  making  another happy ending possible.

WOOHOO  BUSTER  &  KATHY ! ! !

Katherine, the Robinson's daughter, picked Baxton up from his foster mom, so she could transport him to her parents in South Carolina.

BAXTON

Baxton was lovingly fostered by Jan Carnathan in Mississippi.

Baxton's foster mom told us; “I have been terribly attached to several of my fosters, but Baxton was the keeper, if ever I was going to keep one of my fosters.”

Baxton was adopted on by Louise and Bill Robinson. on July 3rd in Spartanburg, SC.

Baxton’s foster mom said; “It makes my heart glad to know that he will help bring joy to their family.  I still have a terrible ache in my heart.  Even Cody, Baxton's foster brother has been all through the house looking for him.”

HAPPY TAILS BAXTON ! ! !

When Charlie went for a pre-adoption visit it was obvious he was the right choice and the family immediately loved him. He just seemed to fit right in and they could hardly wait to welcome him into the family.

CHARLIE

Charlie was fostered with much love and care by Bob and Pat Imsand of Georgia.   Charlie doesn't have the usual  Schnauzer eye brows or beard right now, but they are growing back.

Charlie bonded with his fosters family including Sunny, Happy and Rufus, very quickly.  He returned their love and acceptance many fold and is missed by them.

Charlie was adopted by Jennifer and Jeb Napier of Auburn, Georgia on June 29th  2007.  The Napiers have a teen age daughter and nine year old son. They also have four cats. The family has wanted just the right Schnauzer for a long time and had wanted to adopt one on two other occasions, but they didn’t find a compatible match until Charlie came along.

Charlie plans to keep the cats in line and take over the household in short order with his winning personality and obvious love he has to share with his human family.

WAY TO GO CHARLIE ! ! !

REX

Rex was fostered with much love and care by Leigh Ann & John Stone in Tennessee.

Rex was adopted on June 26 by Craig Patton.  Rex will now be living in North Palm Beach, FL in the lifestyle he feels he is accustomed to!

Rex's new Daddy lost his schnauzer of 17 years not long ago.  He was at the beach one day and saw 2 really cute Schnauzers in a car and started talking to the man who owned them.  It turned out he had adopted them from SLR!

Craig flew to Memphis from Florida, rented a Jeep, picked up Rex and they were off.  Rex never looked back.

WAY  TO  GO  REX ! ! !
