                            WAY TO GO PIXIE ! ! !

PIXIE now SCHATZI

Pixie was lovingly fostered by Nita & Johnny Wofford in Olive Branch, MS.

One year old Pixie (renamed Schatzi) was adopted by Carolyn and John Malish on May 9th, 2007.
Schatzi's new mom, Carolyn works at a church in Memphis as the music director and teaches piano at their home and her "Papa John" is retired.   Schatzi will have someone at home with her most of the time to spoil her, which is what this sweet little girl deserves.  Since Nita and Johnny live so close to Carolyn and John, they have offered to keep Schatzi for them when they go vacation and to let her come over for play days with their dogs.

                         WAY TO GO ZOEY ! ! !

Zoey was adopted by Tiffany and Jason Warf in March/07.

Foster mom Jan, has since visited the Warf's home to see for herself how totally happy and comfortable Zoey is in her new home.  This was truly a fairy tale ending.  Jan can still close her eyes today and see the expression on Zoey's face the first day she met her.  Zoey has touched her life like no others.  To Jason and Tiffany, thank you for loving her for Jan.

ZOEY

Zoey was fostered with love and care by Jan Carnathan and her family.  Here are Jan’s own words about her experience with beautiful Zoey:

“Little Zoey was rescued from a puppy mill in Georgia.  Our rescue reps went the extra mile to see that Zoey was given the chance she deserved. After a few days at the veterinarian’s for spaying and shots, Zoey was delivered to me to be fostered.

At first Zoey could barely understand freedom, having been caged all her life. She could not go up one step from my sunroom to the den in my home. She would cower at the least movement and trusted no one.  Within 48 hours she began to realize that she was in a loving home, clean conditions, and most of all - human contact.

Zoey blossomed right before my eyes and in one week, she became my little “Velcro” girl. She was able to give and receive love for the very first time.  We began to think Zoey’s forever home, was with me and my family. However, there was more to come.  We receive an adoption application from Tiffany and Jason Warf.  Their application had Zoey written all over it!!!

After one of our SLR reps Ashley Stuteville, did their home visit, she convinced me Jason and Tiffany would provide the perfect forever home for Zoey. Still needing my own assurance, after several conversations with Tiffany, I was convinced that they needed Zoey and Zoey needed them to be her very own mom and dad."

SELMA

Selma was lovingly fostered by Kate & Kerry Jenkins.  Selma is 6 years old and seeing the world with new eyes!

Thanks to everyone who made donations to Selma’s cataract surgery.  Her cataract surgery was successful and she was recently adopted by a wonderful couple in Alabama; Billy & Donna Wood. They fell in love with Selma, - as you can see, the feeling was mutual!

              Yippee Selma ! ! !

                              Yeah Nathan ! ! !

The Miller's had recently lost their black/tan schnauzer mix, Que Pasa.  They couldn't believe it when they found Nathan's picture on Petfinder!  They were so very happy to have found a look alike to fill the hole that Que Pasa left.  They are all very happy and Nathan is getting more spoiled every day!

NATHAN

Nathan was lovingly fostered by Robyn & Ashley Slaton.  Nathan is 2 to 4 years old, - a black & tan schnauzer mix who was adopted by Marie & Raymond Miller in Florida on 04/01/07.

Nathan was in a kill shelter. When the shelter became over crowded, he was going to be put to sleep.  Another rescuer saved him and contacted us for fostering and re-homing.  He had serious trust issues and heartworms.  So, in his 4 months of heartworm treatments he learned what life is supposed to be like.  He was finally in a safe and loving environment where he blossomed into a perfect little companion.  His foster mom was amazed at how smart he was!

                 Yeah Rosco & Oscar ! ! !

Rosco & Oscar were adopted together by David & Janie Stout of Fountain Inn, SC.  They will live on 20+ acres in the country, and their new family is building them a fenced back yard with a doggie door, too!

ROSCO & OSCAR

Oscar and Rosco were fostered with love and care in South Carolina by Barby & Matt Thornton.

We received this letter from their new family:

"It is unbelievable how Rosco & Oscar have changed in the 2 weeks that we have had them, - most of it for the better!!

Oscar is the one most changed as he no longer seems bashful, and he has learned to bark, - I mean he really has it down pat.  Rosco has never been bashful about barking.
We took them for their first car ride yesterday.  We only had them in the car 10 minutes, then we got out and walked, did 10 more minutes and then walked some more. The first few minutes they were really scared. We realize that almost every time they were put in a vehicle in the past, they went somewhere else to live.
The fence contractor was here most of the day Saturday.  Soon we will have a big wooden fence that will  allow the doggies a big place to safely run.  Oscar & Rosco bark , run , play , jump, bite, yes bite, when you are playing with them , not hard bites but little love nips.
We feel so fortunate to have met you which led us to adopting the boys. "

                           YIPPEE  MILO ! ! !

Milo was adopted by Andy Higgins and Jennifer Blackwood on March 31st, 2007.

MILO

Milo was lovingly fostered by Jennie & Ron Gillihan in Georgia.

Milo was one of 10 dogs rescued from puppy mills out of state.  Even the horrible conditions of his previous life couldn’t repress his wonderful spirit.  The Class Clown is what his foster dad always called him.  Milo always made us smile no matter the circumstances.

Andy & Jennifer who adopted Milo, saw him on our Available Pets page and fell instantly in love.  During the process, Jennifer would go to the page again and again, and just sit and smile at him.  Within 2 minutes of meeting them, Milo was giving them kisses and they are all a very happy beach family now!

Milo's new home will be in Jacksonville, FL.

                    WAY TO GO SKYLER ! ! !

SKYLER

Skyler was lovingly fostered by Nita and Johnny Wofford in Olive Branch, MS.

Skyler is  young, full of energy with a sweet temperament.  He loves to go for rides in the car.  His foster mom fondly remembers that every time he went into the garage, he stopped at the car door in hopes he will get to take a ride!

One of his favorite things to do was to grab his stuffed toy in his mouth and roll over onto his back to play with it with all 4 feet in the air.

Lee and Cannon Owen from St Simon Island, GA adopted Benny on Oct 22, 2005 and changed his name to Skyler (from Benny).  His new family said he's still full of energy and spends the greater part of his day chasing the squirrels in the back yard.

                            YIPPEE GUS ! ! !

Angus, - now “Gus” is just over a year old.

He was adopted by Maureen Wheelin on                          March   28, 2007.

ANGUS - "GUS"

Angus was fostered with much love and care by Marcia Harrison.  She writes; “As a foster family, we loved seeing him change it seemed hour by hour.  Angus is a wonderful dog who had a miserable life in a puppy mill, but with lots of reassuring, he really became a very sweet dog.”

Gus’s new family sent us the following update:
”Just letting you know that Gus is coming along well. Gus is acting more like a puppy now, which is both good and challenging. He understands so many words; - stop, wait, water, dinner, outside, walk, and good boy.
We are waiting to start official training with him, as our vet felt that he needed time just to get used to his new family and routine. I am doing some one on one with him, but I want to take him to a class in a couple of months.
As far as we are concerned, he is TOTALLY adopted and has his "forever" home.
Thanks so much for opening your home to Gus as a fosterdoggy. You showed him probably the first love he ever experienced. We are trying to pick up where you left off. Gus has a ways to go
yet, but then don't we all.”
