SPENCER

Spencer is being fostered in north central FL by Joy and Fred.  If you think this boy is as handsome and loveable as we do then fill out an application and then you can email them for more information at rare_arabians@yahoo.com

Spencer is a very good looking male mini of approximately 11-12 years of age.  We have not way of knowing for sure, but we know he is still young at heart.

He was picked up from the shelter because he was to be put down that very day. He had been adopted but was returned to the shelter because he has a heart murmur. SLR took him to the vet and the vet said that he does have a hear murmur but it isn't very bad. Also he has VERY bad cataracts and probably only has about 80% vision, seeing shadows and some light. He is also 95% deaf. Other than than, he is a sweetie and beautiful.

He is heart worm negative and up to date on all his immunizations. He seems quite healthy except that he can't see well and he can't hear. But hey, getting old does have its struggles for dogs just as it does for humans.

Spencer has learned to get around his foster home and his foster home's large yard very well, and is learning to use the doggie door a little bit. He is totally house broken and walks well on a leash. he can sometime startle in a new environment. He is VERY good with other dogs and also with cats. He rides well in the car, but really doesn't like being crated.

His foster parents call him "the moving man" because he likes to walk, and walk, and walk. Spencer doesn't wag his tail, but carries it not up, but not down (kind of half mast). He likes to be held for a short time in the evening, 30 to 45 minutes and then he goes to bed and sleeps until 7:30/8:00 A.M. He does enjoy being out in the yard, but it is just because he really has room to walk around. He has no trouble finding his way back in by himself. Spencer has a very hearty appetite. When it is time for breakfast and dinner he can get very vocal, letting you know it is time to EAT!

If you are a loving compassionate person who would not rule out a dog just because he is a senior and has some physical limitations, please consider this very deserving, handsome boy.  Spencer will make a wonderful addition to a family who would enjoy a very well mannered and loyal schnauzie boy.
